ShawCor wins concrete coating contract for Technip Latin American Project

TORONTO - ShawCor Ltd. on Jan. 9 announced its pipe coating division, Bredero Shaw, has received a significant contract from Technip USA to provide concrete weight coatings, anode installation and other related services for a Latin American pipeline project.

The project will consist of approximately 100 km. of 36-inch pipe to be installed offshore for the transportation of natural gas. Bredero Shaw will mobilize two compression coat technology (CCT) concrete weight coating plants to La Brea, Trinidad, for the project. Initial operations are scheduled to begin during the first quarter of 2012 with concrete coating scheduled to start in the third quarter of 2012.

ShawCor to coat pipe for Ichthys Gas Export Pipeline in Australia

TORONTO, Ont. - ShawCor Ltd. on Nov. 22 announced that its pipecoating division, Bredero Shaw, has received a letter of intent from Mitsui & Co. Ltd. to provide pipeline coatings and related products and services for the gas export pipeline on the Ichthys Gas Field Development Project.

The letter of intent is conditional on a Final Investment Decision by the Ichthys partners, Inpex Corp. and Total E&P, and the receipt of a purchase order and definitive production schedule detailing the start of production and the project duration.

Based on current estimates, the company's scope of work for the project is expected to exceed US$400 million.

The Ichthys gas export pipeline will transport production from the offshore central processing facility through a subsea pipeline to the onshore LNG facility to be located at Blaydin Point, Darwin, Northern Australia.

The pipe coating will involve approximately 900 km. of 42-inch pipe that will be protected with asphalt Enamel coating, SureFlo™ internal coating and HeviCote® concrete weight coating. The company will execute the work at Bredero Shaw's facilities in Kabil, Indonesia, and Kuantan, Malaysia.
